Terms & Conditions
Last updated 23 August 2026 · Effective from 23 August 2026
BudgetAnalyzer is a private personal finance tracker you fill in yourself. These terms explain what you can expect from it, what we expect from you, and the one thing worth knowing up front: it is a record-keeping and calculation tool, not financial advice.
1. These terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of BudgetAnalyzer — the website at budgetanalyzer.in, the logged-in application, and everything we publish there, including the guides, finance dictionary and calculators (together, the “Service”).
The Service is owned and operated as an independently run sole proprietorship based in India (“BudgetAnalyzer”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. BudgetAnalyzer is not financial advice
- We are not a bank, NBFC, payment system operator, broker, investment adviser, research analyst, insurance intermediary or tax practitioner, and we are not registered with the RBI, SEBI, IRDAI or any other financial regulator.
- We do not hold, move, transfer or manage your money. The Service cannot make a payment or place a trade.
- Budget suggestions, category assignments, charts, net-worth figures and calculator outputs are estimates produced from the data you enter, using standard formulas and assumptions stated on the page. They may be wrong, out of date or unsuitable for your situation.
- Tax-related figures follow the financial year named on the page and are simplified. Rules change and individual circumstances vary.
- Decisions you make using the Service are yours alone. For advice about your own money, consult a qualified professional.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you are. The Service is designed for users in India and presents amounts in Indian rupees; you are responsible for compliance with your local law if you use it elsewhere.
4. Your account
- Register with accurate details, and keep your email address current — we use it for verification, password resets and security notices.
- Your account is personal to you. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your account.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at connect@budgetanalyzer.in immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. Do not register on someone else's behalf or with someone else's identity.
- If you sign in with Google, your access also depends on your Google account; losing access to it may lock you out of BudgetAnalyzer.
5. Your data and content
Your data stays yours. The financial records, notes, files and statements you put into BudgetAnalyzer belong to you. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the Service for you: to store your data, process it, display it back to you, categorise and summarise it, and produce your exports. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it to build products for anyone else.
By uploading anything, you confirm that:
- you have the right to upload it — including any bank statement, which must be your own or one you are authorised to use;
- it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law;
- it contains no malicious code.
Export your data at any time from the Export page. How we handle your data, and how to have it deleted, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access, or try to access, another user's account or data;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt the Service, or attempt to bypass its security, authentication or usage limits;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, or use bots or automated scripts against it, other than well-behaved search-engine crawlers;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service, or resell, sublicense or white-label it;
- upload malware, or use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or anything unlawful;
- use the Service to store data you have no right to hold, including another person's financial records;
- misrepresent your identity or your relationship with BudgetAnalyzer.
We may apply reasonable limits — for example on file sizes, import volumes or request rates — to keep the Service stable for everyone.
7. Free plan, Premium and payments
- The Service is currently free to use. We do not take payments today, and no payment details are collected.
- Premium features are in development. Joining the waitlist places no obligation on you and costs nothing.
- If and when paid plans launch, their prices, billing cycle, refund and cancellation terms will be published before you can subscribe, and no charge will ever be made without your explicit consent.
- Free features may change. We may introduce, alter or withdraw limits on free usage — including AI-assisted import credits — and will give reasonable notice of a material reduction.
8. AI-assisted features
Some features use AI — most notably reading transactions out of a bank statement that our rule-based parser cannot fully handle. These features come with limits (including a free allowance per account) and may be changed, capped or withdrawn.
- AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Every import is shown to you for review before it is saved, and can be undone as a batch afterwards. Reviewing it is your responsibility.
- We are not liable for decisions made on the strength of an unreviewed AI-generated result.
- What is sent to our AI provider, and on what basis, is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
- We aim to keep BudgetAnalyzer available and correct, but we offer no uptime guarantee. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades or reasons outside our control.
- We may add, change or remove features at any time. We will try to give notice of changes that materially reduce functionality you rely on.
- Imports, exports, parsing and categorisation are provided on a best-effort basis and may not handle every file or bank format.
- Keep your own copies. Export your data periodically. We are not a backup service and cannot guarantee recovery of data that is lost, corrupted or deleted.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third parties — sign-in, hosting, storage, email and AI providers — and our pages sometimes link to external sites for reference. We do not control those services or sites, do not endorse their content, and are not responsible for them. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider's own terms.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — its software, design, interface, name, logo, and the guides, dictionary and calculator content we publish — is owned by BudgetAnalyzer and protected by intellectual property law. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for your own personal finance management, and nothing more.
You may quote short extracts of our published content with clear attribution and a link. You may not republish it wholesale, use it to train models, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or a partnership, without written permission.
12. Suspension and termination
- By you — stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and have your data erased, email connect@budgetanalyzer.in — see the Privacy Policy.
- By us — we may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your use harms the Service or other users, or if we are required to by law. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will give notice and a chance to put it right.
- If we discontinue the Service — we will give reasonable advance notice so you can export your data.
On termination your licence to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive — data ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that any calculation, categorisation, import or projection will be accurate or suitable for your circumstances.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, savings, investment returns, business, goodwill or data, however caused;
- we are not liable for financial decisions you take using the Service, for tax or regulatory consequences, or for losses arising from data you entered incorrectly or failed to review;
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and (b) ₹1,000.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BudgetAnalyzer and its operator against claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms or of any law, or content you upload that you had no right to upload.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service and the law evolve. The “last updated” date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service and close your account.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the grievance process below, the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms.
We would much rather sort a problem out directly — please write to us first, and we will make a genuine effort to resolve it.
18. Contact and grievances
For questions about these Terms, or to raise a complaint about the Service (including any grievance under applicable Indian law, such as the DPDP Act), contact:
- Grievance Officer, BudgetAnalyzer
- Email: connect@budgetanalyzer.in
We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within 30 days.
